Frequently asked questions
Do small scooter batteries need a passport too?
Yes. There is no capacity threshold for LMT batteries. All that matters is that the battery powers a wheeled vehicle, is sealed and weighs no more than 25 kg.
The battery is built into the frame. Do I still need a passport?
Yes. Built-in batteries are covered too. Whoever imports the bike from a third country is usually responsible for the passport.
Where does the QR code go?
Visibly and durably on the battery. If that is not possible because of its size, on the packaging and the accompanying documents (Art. 13(7)).
