Frequently asked questions

Does the duty also apply to lead-acid forklift batteries?

Yes, if it is an industrial battery above 2 kWh. Chemistry plays no role for the passport duty.

I build batteries into my machines. Am I responsible?

If you place the batteries on the EU market yourself or import them, yes. If you buy them from a supplier who has already placed them on the market, the passport usually comes from that supplier. Get this confirmed in writing.

Can I take over the data from our ERP?

Yes. Serial numbers via CSV or API, model values via CSV with the official field names.
